OWA Members & Hawaii wedding professionals: Please update your calendars for the upcoming OWA meeting, to be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Officer’s Club, Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe.

SPECIAL NOTE: Since this is DAYTIME event will be held on a military base, they have given us instructions of how to get on base.

OWA Members To Help A Fellow Hawaii Wedding Professional

Recently, Marcia Campbell, one of Oahu’s most talented and respected wedding photographers, was seriously injured in a bicycle accident. An email was sent out to members of the Oahu community to cover her weddings that she had booked, and it appears that is going to be taken care of.

If any OWA members are willing to make a donation on behalf of the OWA, please let us know so that we can begin to put something together.

2012 OWA Board

At the last OWA meeting on November 29 at Apartm3nt, OWA members elected new board members to guide the association into the new year. Here are the results of the elections:

  • President JOSHUA FAIR
  • Vice President ALICIA HOLINGER
  • Secretary PUMEHANA WADSWORTH
  • Treasurer CECILIA DOMINGO
  • Immediate Past President KARINE FRANCE-MATSUMOTO

In addition, three members were voted to at-large voting committee chair positions:

  • JILL EASLEY
  • KEVIN OKUTANI
  • JAMES CHUN

Finally, two members were appointed to non-voting board positions

  • BRAD BUCKLES
  • MIKE LUKACS

The 2011 and 2012 boards held a transitional meeting on December 15 at Assagio’s Bistro in Kahala.  Details on that meeting are coming soon.

Thank you to the outgoing 2011 board for their tireless work and effort to make OWA members’ experiences worth the investment.
